One of our clients asked us to plan an event in Atlanta for 700 guests in an outdoor setting that featured a major pop star as the evening's entertainment. The event was going to be held at Centennial Plaza with the entertainment portion being in the adjacent amphi-theatre.

The event took 6 months to plan with major logistics and obstacles as fencing, barricades, outdoor restroom facilities, trailers for the talent, catering tents, traffic control, etc. The day before the event it looked as though it might rain the night of the event. When the client decided to move it to the venue we had on a backup hold - the Georgia Dome - we had less than 24 hours notice to completely transform the components that we were using outdoors into an indoor event. And, all went off without a single hitch. One major advantage to the site (other than it not raining on the event), were the colors of the Dome - red and black. The exact colors of the client's logo. And, we were able to put the logo on the diamond and ribbon boards for added branding.

Two-thirds of the turf was covered with event decking to accommodate seating for 700, the buffets and the concert arena. Velvet drapes hung from ceiling trusses were used to separate the two completely different areas. The ceiling of the Dome is translucent which allowed daylight to illuminate all of inside. Fortunately, the timing of the concert coincided with the sun setting allowing the stage lighting to do it's job as planned. When it was time for the concert to begin, the curtain was raised to allow guests in.
